If you haven’t already, you should take a quick look at the two new toys Bethie and I received from John at Leather Thorn Paddles. Bethie’s got pictures here.

Unfortunately I’ve had an energy-sapping head cold ever since the toys arrived, so we really haven’t given them the thorough product testing they deserve. Yet. Bethie and I finally found time to watch our review copy of Lucinda’s Confessions, the latest spanking movie from Spanking Epics. We found it to be a solid and enjoyable production.

Like the first two movies from Spanking Epics, Lucinda’s Confessions delivers believable spankings set in a much stronger story framework than is standard for the genre. Although the acting (especially the voicework) still has room to improve before you’ll be able to forget that the lines are being delivered from a script, the characters, costumes, humor, and story are all miles above anything else I’ve seen lately. Better yet, the spankings are strong and (mostly) believable without ever becoming brutal (this movie will not satisfy those looking for strong welts or severe marking).

Lucinda’s Confessions is “framed” within a modern office setting, and consists of the imaginings of a magazine writer who works on an erotic story after hours. The story itself involves a Victorian-ish setting featuring stock characters: the orphaned nearly-adult protagonist, her distantly-related wealthy male guardian, her severe governess, and her tutor. Upon joining this household, Lucinda quickly finds that her behavior is not up to expected standards, and in consequence she perforce must endure a wide variety of spankings and canings.

The spanking in this movie is better done than in earlier efforts by Spanking Epics, in the sense that there is a better match between the severity of the spankings and the reactions of the spankees. (You knew the governess would not escape unspanked!) There is less of the “Tappity-tap pat pat YEOUCH!” over-acting that’s too common in spanking movies, and the bottoms on display redden so quickly and so well there can be little doubt that the spankings are felt.

Lucinda’s Confession alsos delivers a small frisson of delight for those who enjoy ageplay, in that Lucinda, though an adult young woman, is at one point forced to wear the clothes of a much younger girl and is treated as a child to emphasize how unacceptable the household finds her childish behavior. As part of this treatment, the governess shaves off Lucinda’s pubic hair with a straight razor, which is (to put it mildly) quite visually arresting:

Pussy shaving fans will greatly enjoy this scene, even if (as seems likely) there’s nothing actually being shaved by that dramatic blade except a generous quantity of shaving foam.

If you’re used to spanking movies that pretend sex does not exist, you may be suprised by scenes like the shaving scene mentioned above, a fairly explicit female masturbation scene, or a scene in which Lucinda discovers that she can orgasm while being spanked. I found these scenes to be a refreshing departure from the almost prudish attitude that’s common in spanking porn.

I won’t spoil your enjoyment of the movie with a scene-by-scene plot analysis, but I can safely say there’s a happy ending. And of course, I’m looking forward to the next effort from Spanking Epics.
