On this day one year ago, I posted the first post on this spanking blog and (as near as I can tell) thereby invented spanking blogs. (Although BDSM and master/slave journals and blogs have been around since forever.)
This blog has been a lot of fun, and I’m looking forward to many more years of doing it. I’ve made some excellent online friends and (indirectly via a site I only discovered while mining for links) found Bethie to love and to spank. So I can honestly say that right now starting this blog strikes me as one of my better moves. {grin}
I do however have a confession to make. When I started this blog, my primary motivation was to see if I could get the number one Google result for the word “spanking”. A year later, I’m sitting at number three (it varies, I was briefly down at seven or so yesterday), and I’ve been as high as number two on a good day. Spanking.com is going to be a tough nut to crack — but I’m not giving up yet!
Well, not quite. But except for the OTK spanking action, this photograph looks exactly like all those old 1960s black-and-white family pictures in our old photo album:

Lately I’ve much enjoyed playing with Bethie and a broad leather belt I bought at the thrift store. The belt makes a good snapping noise when it lands, it sets up a most fetching impact ripple, and it contributes readily to bottom redness (although not so readily as my other new favorite toy, the Monster Rubber Spatula). More importantly, the belt never fails to make her squirm. And this exchange still makes me laugh when I think of it days later:
Me: “You like the belt, don’t you?”
Her (voice muffled by pillow): “Yeah. {pause} I mean, NO!”
I dearly love the old black-and-white “wallet photo” porn from the first half of the twentieth century. The good examples have a sort of lusty American honesty that’s a refreshing change from the more artistic “French Postcard” salon photography that made up the first big wave of photographic pornography. And this is a good example:
