Ludwig Plus Kaelah

I would have titled this post “Geeky Spanko Love” but “geeky” is one of those tricky words — even to folks who wear it proudly, it doesn’t always sound as good when somebody else says it. This time, though, I probably could have gotten away with it.

To see what I mean, you’ll want to read Ludwig’s account of catching the lovely Kaelah.

ludwig and kaelah

Of course, once you read Ludwig’s account you’ll have to acknowledge there’s some uncertainty as to who, exactly, caught whom. (Alternative post title #2: “Ludwig, Harvested.”) Not that it matters to the happy couple.

The details, of course, will be of interest to every lonely spanko out there. In a nutshell, she delurked (and wrote to him) in connection with a mass delurking event organized by Bonnie. A correspondence ensued and, you know, one thing led to another, in the usual pleasant way. (What? Of course “the usual pleasant way” involves roleplay and Klingon pain sticks on the third date. Doesn’t it?)

I think it’s worth pointing out that this account matches one of the classic patterns for finding kinky love on the internet. I’ve long felt that single spanko guys, especially, can stand to benefit from “putting themselves out there” with a blog or with sustained forum participation or with any similar long-format exposition of who they are and what they are about. Way back in 2004 I wrote the following:

My advice to spanking lovelorn guys: there are a startling number of women out there who want to be spanked and say they can’t find a man to do the job. The thing is, most of them aren’t going to want to meet you right away — that’s just too dangerous and freaky. So go and find yourself an online spanking community based around a bulletin board system and participate on the boards. Be yourself, be fun and funny if you can pull it off, and above all, be honest about who you are. Keep at it (we are talking months, here) and before you know it, women who now know you and like you will start sending you friendly emails and IMs on totally innocuous subjects. What you do then is left as an exercise for the student. Trust me, you’ll be harvested.

I speak from (happy) experience here.

When I wrote that, more than five years ago, blogs weren’t as easy to do as they are today, which is why I was still recommending spanking discussion forums rather than suggesting “start a blog.” Talk to Bethie, though, and she cheerfully admits that she read every one of the posts from the first six months of this blog before she started to, as she puts it, “sneak up on” me. However it’s done, something a bit “larger format” than the typical internet personal has a lot to recommend it. As, I suspect, Ludwig and Kaelah would currently be willing to testify.

  1. Bethie commented on August 11th, 2009:

Hey, I did sneak up on you! Well, my version of sneaking anyway. Not that it matters, I harvested you all the same. ;-)

That was a great post by Ludwig, I loved it!

  2. Beau Corrigan commented on August 28th, 2009:

Wow, does that mean you and Bethie have been together for 5 years? I’m pretty sure I remember reading this blog when you two weren’t together yet… which means I’ve been reading and enjoying this blog for half a decade…

And never commented, I don’t think. Ha. Guess I keep getting distracted by the Source links. ;)
