Erotic Spanking Article

A reader sent in a link to this article on erotic spanking. It’s a bit prescriptive for my taste — for instance, I’m far from convinced that a safeword is necessary in every erotic spanking relationship — but I did like the sample conversation from a failed attempt at trying this spanking thing:

“Okay… uh… bend yourself over my knee here, and… uh… there.”

WHACK!!!!! Goes the slap of the hand.

“Ouch! That hurts!”

“Sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

“No, no… it’s okay.”

“Ah… right… uh….”

WHACK!!!! The bare hand comes down again.

“Ouch! That really hurts!”

WHACK!!!! Once more.

“I said stop it! I mean it!”

Which of course puts me in mind of my favorite spanking line: “Good, it’s supposed to hurt!”

I agree about a safeword. My problem with it was that my last boyfriend wouldn’t stop until I used it. It made me feel like a failure every time to have to use it. Not sure if I’m alone in not wanting to use the safeword unless absolutely necessary and feelings of failure at having to use it… am I alone here?

If I was in a relationship where such things were commonplace, than yeah, I would definitely want to have a safeword, but I would not relish actually using it. So far, the only real experience I’ve had was experimental goofying around between friends, so we didn’t go terribly far. There was no set “safeword,” per se. The spanker just kept going until the spankee said “ok, stop now.”

““Good, it’s supposed to hurt!” ” – one of Dave’s favourite sentences *grumbles*

“Good, it’s supposed to hurt!” Q’s too.

Of course, whats the point if it doesn’t.

I am intrigued by the safeword part of this. To me in my play a “safeword” is exactly that…..a word used to assure safety. If you are having a heart attack, or an asthma attack and cannot breathe, or your leg just went numb, or you feel like you are fainting, etc. I insist you must safe word. If on the other hand you feel your spanking hurts just way too much and you want it to stop hurting and you safe,,,,,,well you are going to be in serious trouble and your spanking is going to hurt way more than it did. If I spank you it is going to hurt way too much!

I don’t understand this business of a safeword is to be used if the spanking hurts too much. There is nothing unsafe about your bottom hurting during a spanking.

    sheesh…

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined.

it’s slightly out of context though. if you read the blog that this is excerpted from you’ll find that this is a comical point made in reference to the larger “how does one try out the spanking scenario with a lover.” the owner of this blog has been doing “how to” explanations for us readers of late. i’d recommend clicking the link to the larger post. it’s funny, poignant, and educational.

Sounds like two people who were not comfortable with each other. But who hasn’t had some snags when adding something new to the evening.
