If you’re of an age to have been buying spanking videotapes (yes, video tapes, remember those?) in the 1980s in the United States, you will surely have fond memories of California Star. Cal-Star was perhaps the first porn producer in the US (at least, of the ones with broad distribution in adult video stores) to do “real” spanking movies, showing actual spanked-and-caned bottoms. (At that time, domestic spanking movies tended to feature bored-looking models saying “uh, ouch” while a greasy great-uncle type patted their bottoms. Or, more often, fake lesbians tickling each other with the tips of floggers.)

Cal-Star was different. The spankings were real, or at least faked with enthusiasm; and the bottoms wound up looking really really sore. The models, though, were pure 1980s corn-fed Porn Valley rode-hard-and-put-away-wet porn stars. No risk of thinking these “schoolgirls” were too young! It was pure American porn glory, with a kinky twist.

I think I still have a few of their videotapes tucked away in deep storage, but I haven’t seen any new titles in years. But now, via the sparkling miracle that is the internet, much of their old catalog is available for download at Cal-Star Spanking. (In case it’s not clear yet, I’m really enjoying this trend of putting pre-existing spanking video catalogs online as spanking paysites, where we can dip into a whole collection of spanking content without having to hunt for expensive and/or out-of-print videos and DVDs.)

As these production stills show, Cal-Star was known for brightly lit scenes, often outdoors in sunshine, porny (almost trashy) models, and heavily welted bottoms (see here for the red bottoms and welts). Enjoy:
