Belt Spanking In The Mines
This is from a very obscure graphic novel by Georges Pichard. It’s called Germinal, and it appears (as far as I can make out without reading French) to be a treatise on labor exploitation, executed in Pichard’s inimitably graphic style.

I suspect that this is a comic book adaptation of Emile Zola’s “Germinal,” which has a plot summary at the Wikipedia. BTW, Germinal is supposed to be the most popular of Zola’s novels.
