Usually when I hear the phrase “whipping post” I think of something she’s tied against, not something she rides. But here’s a whipping post of the riding variety:
"...the girls are prepared in the reformatory’s punishment room, naked, lying on their backs on special benches, bound with their legs spread above their heads, shamefully showing the two holes usually hidden..."
Now that’s what I wish had been under the Christmas tree for me!
