Failed Virginity Test
In some obscure would-be caliphate sprung up in an obscure former Soviet republic, there was a great concern about the uncontrolled sexuality of unmarried women. But denunciations of impious lewd young women were fewer than the authorities wanted. That’s when they hit upon an innovation: a man who denounced a woman for lewd behavior would — if she failed her virginity test — henceforth be permitted to administer her lashings himself. Then, indeed, did the denunciations start rolling in!
