Lint Brush Spanking?

I can’t tell whether this is supposed to be a spanking, or just a bit of friendly assistance in removing a spot of dreaded lingerie lint with the lint brush:

a spanking or a lint brushing

I say this because it looks as if we are seeing a bristles-free side of the brush…
