The Steel “Insex” Paddle

I’m not sure how practical this metal-shop monstrosity of a steel paddle would be in actual spanking use, but I think we may safely speculate that it’s got Milcah Halili’s full attention at Real Time Bondage.

Metal paddles, if nicely finished (this one isn’t), have a beautiful appearance, but they are completely impractical due to their extremely high density. The paddle shown here, if it is carbon steel as it appears, probably has a density around 7.8 grams per cubic centimeter, or about ten times that of oak wood! Even aluminum just packs too much of a wallop to be used for anything but a wall decoration. The lettering also presents potential problems although it looks like it was at least filed to remove any sharp edges.

There’s nothing wrong with making your own paddles, but it’s best to stick to wood (or leather or lexan, if you have the specialized skills required to deal with these materials). They will give your sub all the sting she could possibly need, believe me!

Yeah, that was the reason I questioned the practicality of the instrument.

I disagree about aluminum, though; some of the aluminum paddles I’ve played with have been a lot of fun, though they need the same sort of light touch that a dense rubber paddle does.
