Spankfinder.com: One Thousand Members!
Bethie was very happy last night when she noticed the member count for her 100%-free spanking personals site topped 1000. That’s a lot of profiles for a niche dating site that’s only been live for about three months, and she’s been working very hard to keep the Spankfinder.com profile database as “real” (free of spam and commercial members) as possible.
As I mentioned before when I blogged about SpankFinder.com, Bethie is running this as a free service to the online spanking community, and she hopes never to have to charge any sort of membership fee. So many members, so fast, is a real accomplishment; new online personals sites are notorious for never reaching “critical mass” or attracting any useful amount of members. When she started I told her she’d be lucky to get a thousand members in the first year, and now she’s there in the first quarter! I’m delighted to have been wrong.
She’s been working on some advertising banners for folks to use who want to support Spankfinder.com, so please do feel free to link to her from anywhere using these banners:

I have only been on spankfinder since your original post. I have already talked to two people which is more than I can say for Chemistry.com or match.com. Now we just need more people in the Dallas area.

Unfortunately, it takes a LOT of members to get people in every regional area. That kind of widespread member base is going to take time — a lot of time — to develop.

Congratulations to Bethie on her site. I was just over there and I was impressed. Lots of interesting personals are up and the site itself is easy to navigate. I told TheBoss that I had scoped out a replacement for him and that he’d better be on his A Game. (Ha! Think he’ll spank me for that? If I can drag him away from his MORPG.)
It looks as though all is well in SpankBoss and Bethie land. Things are good here too. Email me sometime when you have a spare minute and I’ll get you all caught up.

Bodack, I wish you continued success. Those vanilla sites just don’t seem to work for people like us, I’ve heard. Which is one of the main reasons I started SpankFinder. Getting the word out like this is going to help us get more members which will be good for everyone. I’ve gotten so much positive feedback including a couple of success stories from members who have already found compatible spanking partners. I hope we can do the same for you!

You’re definitely right about vanilla sites not being particularly useful when looking for someone with our…interests. Admittedly, I’d not signed up to a personal site until SF came along (thank you again, btw), although I did so afterwards for comparison, and it’s far easier to establish a rapport with people from SF because we all generally have a similar mindset in at least that initial sense. And even if you don’t find anybody for a relationship, at least you always have opportunity to talk to like-minded individuals :)
