Buying Canes
After several recent questions in the comments about a good place to buy canes, I thought it would be appropriate to share my own favorite place to buy canes as well as BDSM gear of all kinds: JT’s Stockroom. Their cane section features classic crooked rattan canes as well as straight rattan canes with a wrapped suede handle (pictured above, and my favorite because I find them easier to hold and steer). They also do exotic materials from Lexan to Delrin to stainless steel (which I still want to try out on Bethie).
The reason I can recommend JT’s Stockroom so highly, though, is that on top of their great selection, they have a well-deserved reputation for both quality and service. Their stuff is top-notch and I’ve frequently been amazed at how fast they got it to me.

Thank you very much for the resource. :-) The lexan cane looks really interesting. Would you recommend it to beginners? I imagine there’s more of a chance of injury with improper use.
I’ve purchased toys from them for several years now. I’ve never been disappointed.
Lexan is denser, and so a bit more severe than rattan, but quite a lot more durable, so sort of a tossup.
As for injury, in my opinion there’s really not much “chance of injury” in sensible caning play no matter what you use. If the welts are too severe for your taste, dial back the force a bit.
Thanks. I find myself aesthetically drawn to the lexan. I appreciate the info.
For synthetic cane material, check out TAP Plastics http://www.tapplastics.com/ under Tubes, Rods, and Shapes. They offer acrylic, delrin, and fiberglass rods in multiple widths very cheap. For a 30-inch cane, you’ll be paying only a couple of bucks for the rod itself. Add a DIY handle and you’re in business. They ship very rapidly.
Wow, I never thought about making my own cane. Okay, so what if I just walked into a Lowes or something? What would I look for?
